About Soham Council

Soham Town Council plays a significant part in the day to day life of residents living in Soham and Barway. The services it delivers cover a range of local activities which affect all residents to a minor or major extent. The Council functions as a Town Council within the District of East Cambridgeshire. It has strong links with both East Cambridgeshire District Council (ECDC and Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) working in partnership to deliver the best possible levels of service for our community.

Soham Town Council Services

The Town Council provides the following:-

  • Allotments
  • Burials and Cemetery
  • General advice on and signposting residents to other local authority services
  • Grants to Local Organisations
  • Litter Control (in certain areas)
  • Millennium Walks and Art Trail
  • Street Lighting stock (excludes stock held by CCC)
  • CCTV  
  • Annual High Street Hanging Baskets
  • Annual High Street Christmas Lights
  • Recreation Ground and Some Open Spaces
  • The Walter Gidney Pavilion
  • Children’s Play Area (Fountain Lane and Kingfisher goal and hoops on hard standing area)
  • Various Community-driven Initiatives and partnerships that benefit residents
