Pride In Our Town Award

The criteria for the awarding of a Pride in Our Town Certificate is:

That a person, group or organisation demonstrates community or personal value and/or skills in aiming for, achieving, or promoting Soham, Soham based progression or individual attainment of note. For further information please contact the town council offices or email [email protected]

Previous recipients of this Award are:

Soham Town Council at its November 2021 meeting recognised Ms Sally Prior who organised Soham Handy Helpers,  a community volunteer programme, that tirelessly worked throughout the COVID Pandemic and continues to bring essential supplies and care to vulnerable Soham residents.

Mr John and Mrs Sylvia Curtis for long serving voluntary work at the Wildlife and Community Garden at Berrycroft Allotment upon their retirement as recognised by Soham Town Council at its November 2021 meeting and presented by the Chairman Cllr E Johnston.

Mr Geoffrey Fisher (37), Mr Christopher Palmer (40) Mr George Ginn (40) & Mr Tony Hinsley (28) upon their retirement as long serving town Cllrs (years served in parenthesis ) as presented by the Chairwoman Cllr Aitchison at the monthly council meeting held on April 2019

Mrs Peggy Gibbon awarded For her outstanding contribution and long service to the community as a Town Councillor presented by Chairwoman Cllr Aitchison in the presence of friends and relatives at Ely Care Home on11th June 2018

Ms Morwenna Woodbridge for being active in community, a senior Army and Police Cadet and as a Standard Bearer for Soham Branch Royal British Legion (RBL) representing and winning at County Youth and Regional Finals and coming 5th overall in the Adult National category that year presented by Chairwoman Cllr Aitchison at the council meeting held in September 2017
